A sleeping pod is very similar to a standard sleeping bag, except that sleeping bags are quite narrow and restrictive. A sleeping pod is a much more rounded design and therefore it allows you total freedom of movement while you occupy it. A pod sleeping bag allows you to curl up and turn inside the bag and sleep in any position that you find comfortable which is important on cold nights and on hard ground in a tent.

Sleeping pods are made by Gelert and the sleeping pod has won the Camping Magazine Awards 2010. The insulation of the sleeping pod is made from a combination of mono fibre and polyester and are safe to use down to about -4.8c and up to 1c comfort temperature.
